About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the Le Morete vineyard, situated on a hillside in the Valpolicella Classico area near San Pietro in Cariano.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, gently crushed immediately after picking and fermented in stainless-steel tanks. The wine is then combined with pomace remaining from the fermentation of Amarone and Recioto wines. This traditional ripasso process usually takes place in March and initiates a second fermentation.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in 20-hectolitre Slovenian oak casks and French barriques, followed by around six months in bottle.
