About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vines grow at 400 metres above sea level in soils rich in coarse-grained marine sand and various minerals.

Grapes

The fruit is drawn from grapes not selected for Brunello.

Vinification

Vinification broadly follows the same approach used for Brunello. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks for 20–22 days.

Ageing

The wine matures for eight months in large oak casks, followed by six months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Young, fresh and fruit-forward, with less complexity than the winery’s Brunello.
