About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the Masseria Li Veli plot named “Montecoco.”
Vinification
The grapes were harvested entirely by hand in the first week of September, sorted on a conveyor, destemmed and pressed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place under temperature control at 27–31 °C to retain as much fruit character as possible. The wine is then transferred to French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for 9 months in 225-litre French oak barrels.
Label / history
The “Montecoco” plot appears under the code “BC7” in an old land register dating from 1895.
