About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the west-facing Marona vineyard in Lombardy, northern Italy, at 180–220 m above sea level. Most of the vines were planted in 2001. The soils are clay with veins of sandstone and a chalky subsoil.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates once they reach the desired ripeness. At the winery, they are destemmed and the whole berries undergo maceration and fermentation in steel fermenters at a controlled temperature, with regular punch-downs.
Ageing
The wine rests for six months in steel tanks.
Tasting profile
Elegant, with bright aromatic character and acidity preserved by the cool summer nights.
Vintage notes
In 2020, a mild winter was followed by a spring marked by sunny days and light showers. The growing season was unusually warm and dry; summer days were hot, while cool nights helped preserve the grapes’ acidity and bright aromatic character. The harvest took place in good weather and produced a smaller crop that the winemakers considered high quality.
