About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Arneis grows at 250 m above sea level on Asti sands with alternating sandy and clayey layers. The vineyard was planted in 1999 at 4,000 vines per hectare and is trained to a vertical trellis with Guyot pruning. The wine page identifies the fine, calcareous hillside soil as Typic Ustorthent, while the technical sheet classifies it as Typic Ustipsamment. Both sources give a wine yield of 6,300 L/ha, but the reported grape yield differs: 9,000 kg/ha on the wine page and 8,000 kg/ha in the technical sheet.
Grapes
100% Arneis.
Vinification
The grapes are picked early, between the beginning and middle of September, to retain freshness and acidity. Soft pressing is followed by immediate cooling for settling. The prise de mousse is achieved through a complete fermentation directly from naturally sugar-rich must using the Martinotti method. This slower, extended fermentation is intended to build aromatic intensity and complexity while preserving grape-derived aromas. Cold stabilization precedes isobaric bottling.
Vintage notes
This is a millesimato sparkling wine made entirely from grapes of the vintage shown on the label, without blending wines from different years.
Tasting profile
Bright straw yellow with tiny, lively bubbles and a fine, persistent perlage. The fruity bouquet opens with crisp apple and wildflowers, followed by fresh peach and pear. A vibrant acidic impression defines the palate, balanced by elegance and a long, pleasant finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 12°C. Suitable as an aperitif and with finger food, delicate fried dishes or starters.
Label / history
LR replaced the historic Taliano Giuseppe sparkling wine as a new chapter in the family’s sparkling-wine range. The initials refer both to Langhe and Roero—the family’s two territories—and to Luciano and Roberto, the winery’s current owners. Its Arneis base reinforces the connection with the family’s Roero roots.
