About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the “Mazzoni” plot. Stronger winds and dry air across its terraces encourage thicker grape skins. The vineyard is farmed organically.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in mid-October. The bunches are destemmed and crushed by foot, then undergo spontaneous fermentation with 40 days of skin contact. The wine is bottled without filtration.
Ageing
The wine matures for at least 18 months in second- and third-use barriques, followed by a further six months in bottle.
Tasting profile
A darker, more “masculine” expression, with oak notes integrated smoothly and harmoniously.
