About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The three varieties grow at 280–400 m above sea level. Some vines are planted in deep limestone gravel with abundant humus, while others occupy sandy alluvial soils of fluvial origin permeated by porphyry. The Mediterranean climate is marked by hot summers, mild winters and the Ora, the warm afternoon wind from Lake Garda.
Grapes
Merlot, Pinot Noir and Lagrein. No percentages are specified.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. A brief pre-fermentation maceration precedes pressing, after which the must ferments for approximately three weeks in stainless-steel tanks.
Ageing
The young wine matures on its fine lees for a further five months before bottling.
Tasting profile
Intense cherry red with pronounced colour depth. The nose offers undergrowth, strawberry and cherry, followed by an almond nuance. Fresh and intense on the palate, it has well-defined acidity and an almond note returning in the finish.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10–12 °C with cold fish appetisers or anchovy meatballs. Store in a cool place at 10–13 °C with at least 60% humidity.
