About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
Nerello Mascalese grows at high altitude on Etna, in mineral-rich volcanic soils. The Syrah and Frappato come mainly from sandy hills around Vittoria.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in September. They undergo one day of cold maceration, followed by fermentation for 10–15 days at a controlled temperature of 22–24 °C.
Ageing
The wine ages in stainless-steel tanks and then matures in bottle for a further 3–4 months.
Tasting profile
The nose is intensely fruity and spicy. The palate is harmonious, with a lingering finish.
