About this wine

Grapes

The blend is 85% Sangiovese, complemented by Malvasia Nera and Canaiolo.

Vineyard and terroir

The vines are trained to the overturned Tuscan cordon system.

Vinification

Mechanical harvesting and grape selection take place from late September through the first two weeks of October. After soft pressing, the must macerates on the skins for three weeks with pumping over the cap. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations use native yeasts.

Ageing

Ageing takes place in vitrified cement tanks, followed by another four to five months in bottle.

Tasting profile

Ruby red in colour. Red-cherry and floral aromas lead to a fresh, intense palate in which soft tannins remain harmonious.

Serving and pairing

The expected ageing horizon is approximately five years.
