About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards in the Asti region. Pico Maccario’s vineyards are situated on the hills of Mombaruzzo at 180 m above sea level and cover 70 ha, including 55 ha planted with Barbera.
Ageing
The wine matures for 12 months in French oak barrels ranging from 200 to 5,000 L.
Label / history
Red roses grow around the vineyards and inspired the rose featured in the winery’s emblem. Pico Maccario was founded by the brothers Pico and Vitaliano Maccario, whose grandfather Carlo passed down his passion for winemaking and the family’s vineyard holdings.
