About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The estate’s vineyards lie on Valtellina’s steep mountain slopes, where terraces supported by dry-stone walls have been built over centuries. Together, the walls extend for approximately 2,500 km. The Mediterranean-influenced climate provides suitable growing conditions for Nebbiolo. Valtellina’s terraced landscape is a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status.

Grapes

Nebbiolo is known locally as Chiavennasca.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness and fermented in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine rests in wooden barrel number 085.

Label / history

The wine takes its name from wooden barrel number 085, which also inspired the label design.
