About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Sangiovese comes from vineyards in Radda in Chianti planted between 1994 and 2004. The Guyot-trained vineyards have a density of 5,000 vines per hectare.

Harvesting is divided into two stages: half of the grapes are picked during the last week of August or first week of September, and the remainder during the final ten days of September or first week of October.

Grapes

100% Sangiovese.

Vinification

The first portion comes from what is described as a late green harvest. Alcoholic fermentation starts spontaneously, without selected yeasts, at 13–15°C. The second harvest provides a saignée drawn on the day the grapes are picked. This must is combined with the first portion, and fermentation continues at 13–15°C.

Tasting profile

Fresh and fruity, with floral notes. Its refreshing style is presented as particularly suited to summer.
