About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vines grow at 300 m above sea level in the hills south of Rome. The soils are rich in volcanic rock, contributing a refined mineral character.

Grapes

Malvasia Lazio is locally known as Puntinata. The Italian name means “speckled” and refers to the small spots on the grape skins. The variety has been cultivated in Italy since the Roman Empire.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in late September. They undergo one day of skin maceration, followed by a 20-day fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine matures for 4–5 months in stainless-steel tanks.

Tasting profile

The wine has a refined mineral character.

Label / history

The Roma DOC appellation was officially registered in 2011.
