About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Lambrusco Montericco is grown in Puianello’s vineyards in Emilia-Romagna, on limestone and clay soils.
Vinification
The grapes are generally harvested by hand in the first half of October. They undergo cold skin maceration at 5 °C, followed by fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. Following the Ancestrale method, alcoholic fermentation is deliberately stopped before resuming in the bottle.
Ageing
The wine rests in bottle for at least 10–12 months.
Tasting profile
Fresh and refined.
Label / history
Cantina Puianello was founded in 1938 by five winemaking families as a cooperative producing the classic wines of Emilia-Romagna. Its membership and vineyards subsequently expanded. Following a merger with Coviolo, it had 398 members and 436 ha of vineyards in 2005. The winery underwent a major renovation and equipment upgrade in 2012.
