About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are grown at 300–400 metres above sea level.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand. The must undergoes skin maceration and fermentation at a controlled temperature.
Ageing
Most of the wine matures in stainless-steel tanks, while a small portion is aged in oak barrels.
Tasting profile
The use of oak for part of the wine contributes a refined aroma and flavour.
Label / history
The estate’s name means “river of Allah” in Arabic. Tenuta Rapitala was founded in 1971 by Count Bernard Ugonis della Gatine, who restored its cellars and winery after they were almost completely destroyed in the Belice Valley earthquake.
