About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Barbera grapes are selected and come from the estate's own vineyards, which lie 350 m above sea level on mainly marl soils. The vines are 40 years old on average.
Vinification
Harvest usually takes place in late September. The grapes macerate for a week before fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for 14 months in oak barrels, then rests for at least 6 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Rich in flavour, with a pleasant aroma.
Serving and pairing
Suited to traditional Italian dishes such as pizza or pasta, and to meat.
Label / history
Named after Elena, the daughter of the company founder, Roberto Sarotto.
