About this wine

Grapes

The traditional blend is 50% Trebbiano, 20% Verdello, 20% Grechetto and Drupeggio combined, and 10% Malvasia. Trebbiano contributes high acidity, while Grechetto and Drupeggio add nutty and leafy nuances.

Tasting profile

Modern Orvieto typically has a clean, fresh and fruity profile, with crisp acidity and notes of peach. Delicate aromas can include white flowers and green apple.

Serving and pairing

Suitable as an aperitif.

Label / history

Gabriele d’Annunzio called Orvieto Classico “Italian sunshine in a bottle.” Orvieto was historically served at the tables of popes and the nobility.
