About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are hand-harvested from the Le Macie Castellina vineyard in Chianti.

Grapes

Since 2014, the wine has been produced exclusively from Sangiovese.

Vinification

Alcoholic fermentation lasts 10 days, followed by 15 days of skin maceration and malolactic fermentation.

Ageing

The wine matures in French oak barrels for 24 months, then rests in bottle for a further year before release.

Tasting profile

Aromatically varied and harmonious, it combines the character of the grapes with that of its terroir.

Label / history

The 2016 wine received the Corona, the highest award presented by the ViniBuoni d’Italia wine guide.
