About this wine

Grapes

The blend comprises Sangiovese (85%), Canaiolo (10%) and Merlot (5%).

Vinification

After harvest, the grapes are selected and macerated for 10–12 days. Fermentation takes place under constant temperature control.

Ageing

The wine ages throughout the winter before bottling in spring.

Tasting profile

Fresh and pleasant, with bright fruit notes.

Label / history

The name derives from the Latin vernāle, meaning “spring”, and refers to the season in which the wine was traditionally bottled after winter ageing.
