About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Malvasia di Candia Aromatica is grown in estate vineyards in the municipality of Ziano, in Val Tidone on the Colli Piacentini. The vineyards lie on slopes between 220 and 270 metres above sea level, over iron-rich clay soils. This setting accentuates the variety’s aromatic character, acidity and tannic expression. Ten percent of the crop undergoes partial drying on the vine.

Grapes

100% Malvasia di Candia Aromatica.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand and immediately soft-pressed. The first-run must, amounting to approximately 50% extraction, is separated and partially clarified. Fermentation proceeds at low temperature until the sugars are fully consumed.

Ageing

After racking, the wine remains on its fine lees throughout the winter. Bottling takes place in late spring.

Technical data

Malvasia Colli Piacentini DOC. A still white wine presented in a 750 ml Bordeaux bottle, with cases containing either 6 or 12 bottles.

Tasting profile

Bright straw yellow. The intensely aromatic nose combines floral notes with acacia, cypress and mint. The palate is characteristically aromatic, balanced and soft, with a notably persistent finish.

Serving and pairing

Serve cool at 10–12 °C, ideally around 12 °C. Pair with risotto, fresh pasta, egg- and vegetable-based dishes, white meats, shellfish and oily fish. It can retain its qualities for more than three years after the harvest.

Label / history

Created in 2004, TASTO DI SETA extended the estate’s traditional sparkling, dry and sweet expressions of Malvasia with a still interpretation designed to emphasize the variety’s finesse and elegance. Its name—literally evoking a “touch of silk”—refers to the wine’s softness and precious character, expressed through intense sensations on both the nose and palate.
