About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyards have clay-limestone soils.

Grapes

Susumaniello is a local variety that was almost forgotten but has found a place in this wine.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand in early October. Some of them are partially dried by the appassimento method, which adds complexity and depth. Fermentation and maceration take place under careful temperature control. The must is then pressed and separated from the pomace.

Ageing

The wine is aged in oak barrels for 8 months.

Tasting profile

Dry, with an elegant taste and an expressive aroma. The palate is complex and full-flavoured. The bouquet is intense and reveals itself layer by layer in the glass. The overall impression is a refined taste and a bright, fruit-forward bouquet.

Serving and pairing

Suited to red meat dishes and mature cheeses.

Vintage notes

The 2021 vintage was a finalist in the Gambero Rosso Vini d'Italia 2026 competition.
