About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The “SL” vineyard was planted in 1999 near Fonteblanda and faces Maremma Natural Park.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in two passes, one week apart, during the first and second weeks of October, so that only bunches at ideal ripeness are picked. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks for three weeks. After pressing, the wine is transferred to new French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine rests on its lees in new French oak barrels for 12 months, followed by two months in stainless steel tanks and 12 months in bottle.
