About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The grapes are grown around Lake Garda, in the municipalities of Sona and Castelnuovo, at 100 metres above sea level.

Vinification

The grapes undergo cold pressing and maceration, followed by fermentation at low temperatures.

Ageing

The wine rests briefly in stainless-steel tanks.

Label / history

The name “I Frari” comes from the Venetian word frari, meaning “brothers”, which Franciscan monks used for themselves. During the Middle Ages, the monks made wine in their monasteries for the Christian rite of receiving the Body and Blood of Christ.
