About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Rossese is grown on steeply sloping vineyards on Monte Caggio, at 600 m above sea level. The soils are clay and sandstone, and the vineyards are farmed biodynamically. Some vines date to 1940 and give very low yields.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, with selection limited to fully ripe berries. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak barrels with native yeasts, followed by approximately three weeks of skin maceration. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.
Ageing
The wine ages for 21 months on its fine lees in used barrels.
