About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes are native red varieties grown on rocky, mineral-rich volcanic soils in southern Sicily. The climate is Mediterranean, with consistent sunshine and moderate rainfall that keep rot and mould from developing on the grapes. Coastal breezes moderate temperature changes and ventilate the vineyards, helping the fruit ripen well. Viticulture in Sicily is described as organic, without chemicals or herbicides.

Sangiovese 80%, Nerello Mascalese 20%.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the early morning and gently crushed. Fermentation is slow, at a controlled temperature, in stainless steel tanks.

Sicilian wines of this kind are aromatic, velvety and balanced, with lovely fruit notes and refreshing acidity.
