About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards are located on steep slopes in the unspoiled countryside of southwestern Sicily, near Menfi, at an altitude of 400 m. Surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea, they experience warm Sicilian sunshine and fresh sea breezes. The vines root deeply in porous volcanic soil rich in ash and sulfur, contributing pronounced minerality.
Vinification
After harvest, the wine undergoes low-temperature fermentation in stainless-steel tanks under controlled conditions. It then undergoes secondary fermentation and is bottled with a small amount of carbon dioxide remaining in the bottle.
Label / history
The name Inycon derives from the ancient Greek name for the municipality of Menfi, where the grapes are grown.
