About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in the Poggione vineyard at Castelnuovo Berardenga, at an altitude of 400 metres. The vines are planted on limestone and clay soils containing marl.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested and selected by hand during the final ten days of August. Alcoholic fermentation takes place equally in cement vats and tonneaux, with daily bâtonnage for 10 days.
Ageing
The wine ages for 12 months in second-use barriques, with weekly bâtonnage throughout, followed by four months in bottle before release.
