About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Merlot grows in the Quercegrosse vineyard, at 350–390 m above sea level, on clay-limestone soils.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in the last ten days of September. Alcoholic fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks for 20–25 days at controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barriques, 30% of them new.
Ageing
The wine ages for 12–14 months in French oak barrels, then rests a further 6–8 months in bottle in the winery's cellars.
