Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The wine reflects the terroir of the Salento peninsula, the southernmost part of Puglia and the "heel of Italy's boot". The Mediterranean Sea surrounds the peninsula on three sides, giving a mild climate and ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen. Sea freshness, southern sunshine and an ancient grape variety shape the wine's generous character.
Grapes
Negroamaro is the main red grape variety of the area. Its name comes from the Latin "niger" and the Greek "mavros", both meaning "black", a reference to the wine's deep, intense colour and character.
Vinification
After harvest, the grapes are macerated and fermented in metal tanks at a controlled temperature. This brings out their full potential while keeping the fruit flavours bright and the tannins soft.
Tasting profile
Warm, full-bodied and generous in southern Italian style, with a deep, intense colour. The fruit flavours are bright and the tannins soft.
Serving and pairing
Suited to hearty dishes.
