Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from vineyards in the hills of Barbaresco and San Rocco Seno d’Elvio, in Alba. The sites range in exposure from east to west. Their marly soils are predominantly limestone, with veins of sand. The vineyards were planted between 1980 and 2014.

100% Cortese.
Vinification
Part of the fermentation takes place in 225-litre French barriques.
Ageing
The wine matures for about 10 months in 225-litre French barriques, followed by approximately 10 months of refinement in bottle.
Tasting profile
A long-lived, particularly complex white wine combining fragrant aromas with more complex mineral and spicy notes.

Meticulous work with Cortese in both the vineyard and cellar enabled Angelo Rocca to shape the naturally generous but demanding variety into a wine of longevity and complexity.
