Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the Paradeis vineyard above Magrè and another site in Pochi, at elevations between 350 and 450 metres. The sandy soils consist mainly of Dolomite limestone. Manzoni Bianco was planted in Paradeis in 2009.
Grapes
Manzoni Bianco, a crossing of Riesling and Pinot Bianco developed in the 1930s by Professor Luigi Manzoni, director of the Conegliano Research Institute. The variety has loose clusters and thick skins, relatively high acidity and lower sugar levels, and resilience in extreme weather.
Vinification
The wine undergoes ten days of maceration in large casks.
Ageing
It matures on its lees in large casks for approximately nine months.
Technical data
The 2023 vintage has 12.0% alcohol by volume.
Tasting profile
Clear, intense golden yellow. The pronounced, lightly aromatic nose combines quince and pear with flinty and spicy notes. The palate is full-bodied, concentrated and fairly rich, retaining freshness and a dry, spicy character.
Serving and pairing
Best enjoyed two to eight years from the vintage. Pair with fish dishes, clams, crab or shrimp, white meats and poultry.
