Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from scree sites in Magrè at elevations between 210 and 650 metres. The soils are sandy and gravelly, with limestone.
Grapes
Chardonnay.
Vinification
Fermentation is spontaneous. A portion of the wine ferments in contact with whole grapes, drawing tannins from the skins and stems to reinforce freshness, salinity and tension.
Ageing
The wine remains on its lees for approximately nine months, divided between large casks and stainless-steel tanks.
Technical data
The 2024 vintage has 12.0% alcohol by volume.
Tasting profile
Clear, bright golden yellow with green highlights. The pronounced, lightly aromatic bouquet combines apricot and mango with buttery notes. The palate is medium-bodied, lively, juicy and dry, with restrained richness.

Best enjoyed two to six years from the vintage. Pair with starters, fish and shellfish, pork or veal, and poultry.
Label / history
The name dates back to the seventeenth century and honours the Gaun family, the original owners of the Löwengang Estate.
