Vineyard and terroir
MCMLVII comes from the Alois Lageder-owned Punggl vineyard at the southern foot of the Magrè talus cone, at 230 m. Its sandy, loamy soil contains limestone. Merlot was first planted here in 1957, and only the highest-quality grapes are selected for this wine each year.

Label / history
The Roman numerals MCMLVII signify 1957, the year the vineyard was planted. The quality of this parcel led winemaker Luis von Dellemann to vinify its fruit separately in 1995, establishing the wine as a distinct bottling.
