Vintage notes
The 2023 RARUM assortment contains the 2002, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2015 vintages of KRAFUSS Pinot Noir. The wine has been shaped differently by changing climatic conditions over the decades, with each vintage expressing its own growing season and the corresponding adaptations in the vineyard and cellar.
Label / history
The Renaissance-era Krafuss Estate belongs to Roland Riz, Alois Lageder's father-in-law. Surrounded by vineyards and orchards, it reflects the longstanding economic importance of viticulture above San Michele Appiano, extending back to the Middle Ages. In 1991 the vineyards were converted and planted exclusively to wire-trained Pinot Noir. Biodynamic cultivation began in 2013.
The six-vintage selection is offered in limited quantities in a RARUM wooden box supplied with a bottle opener.
