Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from selected sites in Caldaro and Cortaccia at elevations of 300–400 metres above sea level. The soils are gravelly and contain a significant proportion of limestone. Because Schiava grapes favour shade, the vines continue to be trained on pergola trellises.
Grapes
Vernatsch (Schiava), a native variety that played a central role in Alto Adige viticulture until the 1970s and contributed to the region’s reputation for red wine.
Vinification
The wine undergoes maceration in stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete vessels over approximately six months.
