Vineyard and terroir
The fruit is sourced from south and southeast-facing vineyards at 100–300 metres in the hills of the Valpantena Valley outside Verona. Cool breezes from the Dolomite foothills temper the climate, allowing slower ripening while helping preserve aromatic character and acidity. Poor, chalky soils place the vines under natural stress. The vines average 20–30 years old and are trained using Pergola Veronese and Guyot systems.
Grapes
100% Corvina.
Vinification
The grapes were picked by hand, destemmed and crushed, then transferred to 1,200-hectolitre stainless-steel tanks. Fermentation took place at 22–28°C with regular pump-overs.
Ageing
The wine aged in the same stainless-steel tanks before transfer to concrete for final filtration and bottling. The wine page describes bottling after three months to retain aromatic freshness.
Technical data
ABV is 12.5%, acidity 5.75 g/L, pH 3.35 and residual sugar 6 g/L. The 75 cl bottle has a screwcap. Suitable for vegetarian and vegan consumers.
Tasting profile
Youthful and bright ruby in colour, with vivid aromas of ripe cherry and red berries. The palate is balanced and juicy, showing a supple structure, plum and cinnamon flavours, and a lively finish.
Vintage notes
The 2023 season was exceptionally hot and dry. Yields were reduced, producing highly concentrated grapes of strong quality.
