Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the single Era Grande vineyard in the hills around Asolo, at an altitude of 200 metres. The sunny, breezy site has marl and clay soils rich in minerals and organic matter. The surrounding landscape consists of gentle hills planted with vineyards and olive groves.
Vinification
The grapes are hand-harvested into small crates during the final week of September, transported immediately to the winery in a small steel truck and processed while fresh. Vinification takes place under pressure in an anaerobic environment in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. After the base wine has rested, the wine undergoes a 50-day second fermentation using the Martinotti–Charmat method. Residual sugar is approximately 3 g/L.
Ageing
The base wine rests in stainless-steel tanks for at least four months.
Label / history
Viticulture and winemaking in the Asolo area were spread by Benedictine monks from 1000 AD onward and later flourished under the Venetian Republic. The wine received a gold medal at The Prosecco Masters in 2023, a silver medal at the same competition in 2022 and a silver medal at the 2018 Mundus Vini Spring Tasting.
