Storia
1850\nAmadio Rech, head of the Rech family, took ownership of the land in the hills of Castelli di Monfumo and began growing grapes and the area's local apples. The estate supported the whole family and provided its income for many years.\n\n### Abandonment and revival\nThe estate was later abandoned. It has since been restored by Simona and Silvia, the new generation of the Rech family, who set out to revive the area's tradition of grape growing and winemaking and to replant the estate's vineyards.\n\n### Today\nSimona and Silvia make their wines in Monfumo, in the Asolo hills, in a winery carved into the rock.
Terroir
The estate lies in the hills of Castelli di Monfumo, in Monfumo, in the heart of the Asolo hills. It is divided into three separate vineyards, each with its own character, giving grapes of different flavors and qualities.
Vinificazione
The Rech family practises sustainable viticulture. Of the 20 ha owned, 12 are planted with vines. The vineyards were replanted by Simona and Silvia.
Simona and Silvia make their wines in Monfumo, almost entirely from grapes grown in their own vineyards. The winery is carved into the rock among the hills and designed to blend into the surroundings, so that it is almost hidden from view. Natural local materials such as wood and stone were used. It is sheltered by a hanging garden and surrounded by a row of vines.
Filosofia
Simona and Silvia aim to care for the product at every stage of production with methodical precision and to revive the area's tradition of grape growing and winemaking. The family holds that it is important to preserve the land and pass it on to future generations in the same fertile condition in which they inherited it. The estate describes itself as bringing together deep-rooted tradition and a modern outlook.
