Vineyard and terroir
Bramasole comes from the sunniest part of the La Braccesca estate in Cortona. The soils are clay and the climate is Tuscany's warm one, a terroir that has proved ideal for Syrah. The grapes reach full ripeness here.
Vinification
The wine undergoes gentle maceration, to bring out the natural potential of the grapes.
Ageing
Extended ageing of 18 months in French oak, in both new and older barrels. The oak softens the wine, adds complex nuances to the bouquet and gives it a velvety texture.
Tasting profile
Concentrated aromas, with a complex bouquet. The tannin structure is firm yet elegant, and the texture is velvety, a hallmark of the wine.
Label / history
First released in 2000. It has served as a benchmark for Tuscan Syrah. It can continue to develop in the bottle for decades, expressing its origins more clearly with each year.
