Label / history

Baroncini was founded in San Gimignano in 1489, beginning with Vernaccia. The family has made wine for more than 500 years. In the 1960s, Jores Baroncini, father of the current owners, established the modern winemaking and trading company. It now comprises five estates in different parts of Tuscany, each with its own terroir, and an estate in Georgia growing Cabernet Sauvignon and Saperavi.

The company has two ranges: the Traditional Line of classic Tuscan wines, including Chianti, Chianti Colli Senesi and Brunello di Montalcino, and the “1489” range, dedicated to the estate’s history. Baroncini produces approximately two million bottles annually.
