Tasting profile
A ripe, powerful nose offers mature mandarin, melon and pear. The palate is rich and dense, carrying rounded ripe fruit into an exceptionally long finish. Additional published tasting commentary describes cloves, white pepper and peeled almond, together with ripe fruit and a persistent, fruit-driven finish. Other notes evoke marmalade, sweet spices, botanical herbs, marzipan, toasted hazelnut, honeysuckle and apricot, balanced by freshness and acidity.
Serving and pairing
Pair with foie gras, shellfish—especially scallops, shrimp and lobster—soft cheeses, or spicy Thai and Vietnamese food.
Vintage notes
The 2012 vintage was described as mature yet bright and sufficiently structured to carry its intensity, with apricot, orange blossom, mint, spice and honey.
