Deep ruby red with garnet highlights that intensify with age. The 2019 is presented as a characterful, traditional and elegant red. Published tasting commentary describes an intense, spicy nose; roundness and freshness on the palate; juicy fruit; fine tannins; and a persistent finish. Further notes include earthy dark berries, Mediterranean herbs, leather, ripe red cherry, black raspberry, dark spices and a mineral, savoury close. Another assessment finds concentrated ruby colour with orange highlights, a restrained pine-cone aroma, tangy cherry fruit and ripe tannins.
