Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the company's vineyards in Chianti, between Florence and Siena. The climate is mainly continental, with mild winters and hot, dry summers. Marked differences between day and night temperatures let the grapes ripen slowly, reaching phenolic maturity while keeping their natural acidity. The vineyards lie at 300–320 m above sea level, where good ventilation reduces the risk of disease. The soils are primarily alberese, which contributes tannins and structure, and galestro, which brings elegance and ageing potential.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness, usually in the first half of October. They are destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation and maceration take place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts. Maceration lasts 10–12 days, with the juice pumped over the skins daily. The wine is then stabilised and bottled.
Ageing
After bottling the wine rests for a further 3 months in the winery's cellar, so that its components regain their balance.
Label / history
The wine received a silver medal at the India Wine Awards in 2022.
