Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The wine comes from the hills of the Langhe in Piedmont. Soils, slope exposure and climate together help the demanding Nebbiolo develop depth and expression. On the "Sunny Hill" (Collina del Sole) the grapes ripen slowly, building concentration and nuance.
Vinification
The Nebbiolo is harvested by hand in mid-October, at peak ripeness. Each bunch is selected and carried gently in small baskets to keep the berries intact.
Ageing
The wine ages for a long period in oak barrels. The text gives no barrel size or number of months.
Tasting profile
Powerful and structured yet elegant, with depth, concentration and nuance. Nebbiolo gives it excellent structure and a distinctive character. It develops in the bottle for many years.
Label / history
The text ties Barolo to Piedmont and its aristocratic families, in particular the Marquises of Falletti, who introduced the wine to the world in the nineteenth century. "Collina del Sole" translates as "Sunny Hill".
