Questo vino
Vineyard and terroir
The Sangiovese and Merlot are grown in Tuscany.
Grapes
The blend contains equal proportions of Sangiovese and Merlot.
Vinification
Merlot is harvested in mid-September, followed by Sangiovese toward the end of the month. The grapes are hand-sorted, destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with naturally occurring yeasts at a controlled 26 °C. After fermentation, the wine macerates for 12–20 days, developing its structure and texture.
Ageing
The wine matures for 24 months in 500-litre French oak barrels, followed by six months in stainless-steel tanks and at least six months in bottle.
Tasting profile
The aroma is fruity, with herbal and spicy touches. The palate is lively and layered, combining rich berry flavours with savoury notes of oak and spice. The extended, multi-stage maturation contributes to its lively flavour and complex aroma.
Serving and pairing
Open the bottle several hours before serving. Pair with meat or cheese.
