Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the estate's San Carlo vineyard, farmed organically, in the municipality of Volpago del Montello, north of Treviso. The low-yielding vines grow on the red, iron-rich soils of Montello hill.
Grapes
A classic Bordeaux blend of selected Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Vinification
Harvest is generally by hand, from mid to late October, into wooden crates. Each variety is vinified separately, and the wines go through fermentation and malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wines age for 12–14 months in French oak barriques. They are then blended and matured for 6 months in large 25 hl oak casks, followed by 9 months in bottle.
Tasting profile
Elegant, with a generous aroma and a beautifully balanced taste. Spice and fruit notes run through it.
