Vineyard and terroir

Campo ai Sassi presents Sangiovese from Montalcino in a youthful style. The vineyards grow on deep soils that favour fragrance, elegance and a light, delicate tannic texture.

Grapes

Sangiovese.

Vinification

For the 2024 vintage, the Sangiovese fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Punching down played a central role in extracting polyphenolic material.

Ageing

The wine matured in oak barrels and remained in the cellar for an additional period. Bottle ageing completed its development before release.

Technical data

Alcohol: 13%. Available format: 0.75 L.

Tasting profile

Campo ai Sassi 2024 is a vibrant ruby red. Rose and violet mingle with red and black berries on the bouquet, followed by bergamot and an appealing spicy accent. The palate is notably balanced, combining smooth tannins with an energetic line of acidity. A long finish leaves floral and fruity impressions.

Vintage notes

The 2024 winter was relatively mild and dry, encouraging the start of the vegetative cycle. A cool, rainy spring brought rapid, vigorous growth. During summer, rain alternated with sunny days, supporting berry development and maintaining the vines’ vegetative balance. Strong day-to-night temperature variation during ripening enabled gradual maturation. The fruit remained healthy throughout the long harvest, producing fresh, fruity aromas and firm supporting structure.
