Vineyard and terroir
The Pinot Nero comes from a single vineyard in the San Lorenzo Valley, planted in 1984. The Sangiovese is sourced from several vineyards. The estate’s vineyards lie at an altitude of 500 metres and have rich soils.
Grapes
The Pinot Nero vines are planted with Burgundian clones.
Vinification
The varieties are fermented separately in stainless-steel tanks, with regular pump-overs. Maceration lasts two to three weeks, followed by malolactic fermentation in oak barriques. The varieties are then blended.
Ageing
The final blend rests in barriques for six months.
