Vineyard and terroir
The reserve is made from selected Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the old vineyards of the Castelvecchio estate. The vineyards lie in the Karst area of the province of Gorizia, near Sagrado. Their arid, rocky ground has a shallow layer of iron- and limestone-rich red earth. The site is continuously ventilated and influenced by the nearby sea.
Grapes
100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is produced only in the best vintages.
Ageing
Maturation and refinement take place for at least three years in wooden vessels of different capacities, including barriques and tonneaux.

DOC Carso. Available in 750 ml and 1.5 L formats.
Tasting profile
Ruby red with violet reflections. The intense, persistent and expansive aroma begins with red fruit, including currant and blueberry, then develops spicy notes. The palate is rich, complex and full-bodied, with the mineral character associated with the Karst, balanced structure and notable persistence. Elegant tannins support its capacity for long ageing.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 18–20 °C with roasts, red meat or game.
