Vineyard and terroir
The vineyards are in Tuscany, at approximately 250 m above sea level.
Grapes
The blend comprises 90% Sangiovese, with the balance made up of other local varieties.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness. Traditional vinification follows, with maceration and fermentation in stainless-steel tanks for 15 days at a controlled temperature of 28 °C.
Ageing
The wine rests in bottle for at least two months.
Label / history
The family-owned company was founded in Tuscany in 1893 by wine broker Luigi Cecchi and is now led by Cesare and Andrea Cecchi. It has remained focused on traditional Tuscan winemaking and does not produce Super Tuscan wines.
